We walked through the nearest roads to find a nice hostel with wi fi, but of course the first one was the best and with average price.
Maybe we should look further from Kao San but from logistic reasons it is better to steay near this popular road:
- In public transport everybody show you what bus you have take to get to this street
- Some people can call you when you wait for your bus and other one goes on your street and you don't know this ( It is of course because you are not so tannned like Thais and you look differently)
- Kao San is near the centre so you can go back there by foot from i.e. China Town or other sight seeing tour
What is worth to see:
China Town (You will never see so many flowers on the streets)
ChatuChak Weekend Market (Bus nr 3) - One day is not enough.
Public Boat Trip for 1.85 BHT (depending when you stop - this price was for 4 or 5 stops)
Siam Ocean World in the Industry centre - The Biggest Aquarium In South - East Asia
See the view on Bangkok from Vertigo Hotel or Sky Bar.(Vertigo offers long pants for tourists and covered shoes for men - It is necessary to go to the bar. You can use theirs clothes or wear sth longer)
Kao San at the evening and in the morning when you see all girls and boys looking somebody to end the ended night. The sex is recognizable only by Adam's apple.
Watch out on people who recommend you a boat trips by private boats.
Newer discuss with any stranger, only when you want to go somewhere but end the discussion when you know everything. Sometimes people might change your plans by calling tuk tuk man to get you where you don;t want.
Tuk Tukers sometimes gets you to commercial tourists offices (called that same like public informations :TAT) - they get from them a money for a fuel when they bring tourists. You can go there it you have a time and you don't have to buy anything. You can look interested in the offer but you can say that you need to think about it. It is enough to tuk-tuker to get a money and you can travel cheaper. But when you asked before the course whether this price includes stops at TATs and tuk-tukers didn't confirm it - you can ask again for a price without stops or be mad because you asked and don't go to TAT.
Don't leave money, documents at the hostel room. Only in the safe and it is good to have own padlock.
Don't believe people when they tell you that in Grand Palace is a prayer time and you can't enter there.
Also a lie is when they tell you that you will not go to the Palace in short pants. In Palace they have special clothes which you can borrow with giving only lien for borrowed clothes.
Take off your shoes before entering into the temple.
Haggle only on markets when you buy clothes or souvenirs.
Prices for food are constant.
When you see sth in one place and you like it, just buy it because you will never find same thing in another place.
(On chatuchack market use the same rule because it is too big place to have time for go backs)
