The Hilton Hotel Shinjuku
Yawn... whose idea was it to book the 10:35 flight to Tokyo? Aaaargh! We had to get up around 6:30 in the morning so we could made it in time for check-in at the airport.
Whatever...
Too bad exit row seats were already taken... :-(
But the seats on this Cathay Plane weren't crammed in as I expected... also, they had TV's in every seat showing some nice movies and also good service. Did I mention the cute flight attendants? hehe :-P

The flight time was shorter than expected, so we arrived at Narita Airport at around 3pm local time. Luckily, one of the shuttle busses was going directly to our conveniently located hotel, The Hilton Shinjuku.
Shinjuku is a precinct in western Tokyo. It is Toyko's administration center, featuring the government building.
Shinjuku, shopping area
World's busiest train station is said to be Shinjuku station.
Most of Tokyos skyscrapers are located in this area. There's also many shops and restaurants.

In a word - a real good starting point to explore one of the most outstanding cities in the world!

After checking in to our hotel, which was quite nice, we explored the area near Shinjuku station, which is only a few minutes walk from The Hilton hotel.
Full of life, so colorful... just how I like it! hehe
We also stumbled into Kabukichō, which is the entertainment and red-light district there.

After having an extraordinarily tasty japanese noodle soup in one of the many small food joints in the area, we called it a day and went back to the hotel... of course picking up some cans of delicious japanese beer on our way hehe :-P

Cathay Pacific is one of my favorite airlines...their service and entertainment system is very good. Unfortunately the latest design of the coach seats on 747 doesn't impress me at all. Actually I feel so uncomfortable during my direct flights between L.A. and Hong Kong.
