New York - Concrete Jungle

So you are in NY and have no idea what to do?  (I will make a separate blog for Clubs and Bars.)

There are several websites that have a bunch of options for you.  Here are some of them:

GoldStar - I really like this one.  All you do is put in a zip code of where you are staying in NY and it will give you all the events going on plus you can buy discounted tickets...NY is expensive so a savings is always great!  Some zip codes around Manhattan are 10010, 10016, 10021 etc.

Going - This also gives you things that going on around town...this one is a bit more on the dancing/going out younger side.

For you Theater Lovers - here are some sites for discount tickets:
TheaterMania - My mom likes this site.

TKTS  - If you have time to kill and don't mind waiting on line.
..a LONG line...Like 3-4 hours line...Then this is a great deal.  Also...they only take Cash or Travelers Checks.

BB King Blues is a great venue right in the heart of Times Square.  They have great concerts and very reasonable pricing.

I have also seen this for tourists, though I have never gotten looks like a great item to look into. New York Pass.

Twice a year there is a great event called "Restaurant Week" - where some of the best and of course most expensive restaurants provide discount meals.  Here is another site that talks about it...great site for other NYC events and going-on's as well GoNyc.

Getting around NY can be a little intimidating.  There is a great site called HopStop...if you have the address of where you are and where you are going it will give you Train(Subway) or Walking directions.  Very useful.
