today was a great day full of fun and weird characters of vancouver. we wanted to explore china town again. it turns out china town was not in the best neighbourhood of vancouver but thats what makes it more interesting. we found parking on hastings st and decided to find some good dumplings for breakfast... we walked down the same street we drove down the night before and found this chinese restaurant with old people inside.. so ofcourse the food was great! then we walked to the local coffee place where i had belgium dark hot chocalte.. there we saw this pink lady (she might have been crazy) guiding traffic.. hhahah she was waving cars passing the intersection trying to direct traffic. then we walked back towards our car and there was this homeless guy singing really loud about roofing or shingles or something... then there another weird looking guy sharpening scissors with a file.. and people stuffing and picking up things from a stone chinese dragon (mightve been drugs).. it was almost time to pick up melissa so we drove back to our hotel where we met kent who was a local from vancouver.. he would join us the rest of the day.. we went straight to the airport and melissa had arrived just a few minutes latter... sal wanted to see the botanical garden which was supposed to have these christmas light festival which wasnt going to start until one week after we leave.. but the garden wouldve been beautiful if it was during the summer time but we had a great time anyway.. at the ticket booth to get in i asked the girl at the counter if i could get the youth or senior prices which was much cheaper than the regular one.. she gave it to me! hahah so i was happy..melissa said i was a flirt but i didnt want to pay regular for something that i didnt have to.. we walked around the garden and saw some berry bushes and holly and made fun of them somehow.. then we found this statue of a minataur! then we went in a maze garden running around.. i couldnt find the way out and ended up in the same place as everyone else... after the garden which was around 1 we were hungry for lunch and kent suggested this thai restaurant by the water.. which turned out to be closed so we were stuck with this kitchy bar place that served overpriced mediocre food.. i had fish and chips... then we headed to stanely park. we were supposed to go to the suspension bridge but it was getting dark fast and it was a drive.. so as we were driving to the park.. guessed what happened klumpel??!!  we saw these chinese statues!! remember that painting with the parrot in our hostel in taipei?? and the painitng i bought in hongkong?? well i saw these statues!! and i had to stop! we went and walked through the mud and took these pictures.. i was so happy! hahahah it was really funny.. then we got into the park and saw the totem poles.. i have never seen totem poles before and they are really cool.. then we drove around the scenic view and took pictures of the lionsgate bridge.. around 6... we headed back to our hotel and left the car in the garage (which they call a parkade) then we walked around the streets of vancouver.

our hotel was near the redlight district i guess if there was one in vancouver.. there were the 25 cent peep shows and porn shops next to pizza and food places!! awesome!! so walked and then took the metro!! (oOOooo look at me!) hahaha so i took pictures of the metro for my kLumpel.. i would never usually take pictures of metros and trains cause its boring but ive been infected by grzechu!! hahah its always reminds me of him for some strange reason.. hahahah i wonder why? why is that klumpel? haha then we arrived at the banana leaf restaurant where we met ben who is melissa filipino friend.. we ate malaysian food where i ordered lamb... very good... then i said to the waitress it was melisssa birthday.(but it wasnt) so we got free dessert! and we sang happy birthday to melissa. hahaha it was great dessert.. fried banana with sugar and icecream! then we were walking back to the main downtown where we said goodbye to kent..then we got back to our hotel and drove to the gastown area.. everything was closed but we walked down anyway.. we saw the steam clock and it played for us.. very musical.. then we saw the statue of gassy joe!! then melissa said something about him being creepy and the real gassy joe came out from behind the statue and asked us for money.. we said we didnt have any and walked away at which point gassy joe yelld  "HEY!!" and melissa got really scared and walked fast away from him.. hahah then we decided to see the beach at night.. but turns out we were already there in the morning.. so we drove down into town again and walked around for abit.. it was getting late so we droped ben off at the metro station then headed back to the hostel to get some sleep.. we had an early day again tomorow!

this sounds like a lifestyle i'd totally love. i used to live in portland oregon and it's really gorgeous and has tons of crazy people as well. But it doesn't have really cool totem poles or anything super authentic like that. Are there lots of people on bikes and stuff? I'm just curious because I'm thinking about going to school there at the Art Institute. Seems amazing and tempting!
