Quincenera

So I was on my way to West Michigan with my whole family, a little sad that I had to leave my dog all alone in my house for one night but my sister was there to watch over him. So i was sitting back relaxing and enjoying the ride to Grand rapids, watching the beautiful scenery until my mom decided that she was hungry. So we stopped at McDonalds by Chicago's Skyway road. Even though I wasn't surprised at the service that this McDonald's offered, I was satisfied and we hit the road once again. So three hours I saw a sign that said "Grand Rapids" 30 miles. I was eager to arrive to my cousins catilian to see her dance and stuff my face with delicious Mexican Cuisine! So the time finally arrived and my cousin was dancing her waltz, everyone else dancing cumbia, salsa, merengue and other Mexican music. The whole family, including me, and some friends are from Morelos. Morelos is located in central Mexico south of Mexico City. So we have a dance called "Chinelos" Chinelos is a tradicional dance that the aztecs in that region did to scare off bad spirits, invaders, etc... See pics! This dance takes aproximately 5 minutes and you just keep repeating the same 4 steps over and over. I must say that the DJ was a little selfish with the music. Someone needs to tell him that there is new music out there!!!  So the party came to an end! Aww!!! We headed to the Quinceneras house, relaxed and had coffee and had a chat about what where our future plans, how's everyone in the Pueblo, etc... we were up till 6 in the morning. So we went to sleep and woke up 6 hours later. Everyone was hung over, tired and hungry. So we ate Pozole, took a shower, and said our good byes :( I was upset because I didn't want to leave Michigan. It's a really nice place.  So we departed at 3pm and got to Chicago at exactly 5 Pm. It took us 3 hours to get to Chicago. Note: Different Time Zones. We so we finally made it home!!! I was happy to see my dog and we all relaxed and had one more cup of coffee before going to bed. We were so tired!!!!
