Molen de Gooyer / Gooyer mill

For the relatives I invited at Christmas I wanted to have something special to drink, one of them drinks beer, but only the unsweetened kind with biological resources. I knew the perfect place to buy these: Brouwerij 't IJ at Amsterdam, a small brewery where excellent and delicious beers are brewed.
Most convenient is to go on bicycle, because it saves me time and money, and I have the opportunity to take some pictures of that for me almost unknown part of town, (and I don't have to carry those beer bottles because I do have these big newspaper bags on my bike). It has been over 35 years since I was at the Oostelijke eilanden (eastern islands) which are actually more or less in the center since the city expanded tremenduously over the last century. At the 70's of the 20th century the area was really shabby, but town restauration made it a vivid neighbourhood again.

The brewery building used to be a public bath and this is still visible in the cafe part of the brewery, there are the tiled walls, and some of the bath instruction boards are still there. Despite the December cold I really enjoyed that bike trip, and I was very happy to have something special to offer to my guests :)
