we left germany after two stops there, berlin and munich and continuted our journey south....we knew we had a long day ahead of us, so we left bright and early from the hotel leonardo in munich.

our final destination for the day would be venice, italy. we said goodbye to munich and drove toward the distant bavarian alps. the alps are gorgeous, not quite as wide as the rockies, but equally as picturesque... along the way we stoped in innsbruck austria.

innsbruck, was one of my favorite places so far. well, it reminded me of colorado for one, but its a quaint town, rather small, with amazing peaks in the background and a river running through it. we got to experience innsbruck for about 2 hours, enough time for lunch, and a walk through the medieval city...i will go back here someday, hopefully in the winter..

afer innsbruck, we drove up through brenner pass which was absolutely breathtaking. the pass, was very diff than those in the rockies, they didnt do much blasting, rather they built more of a bridge through the mountains...

we arrived in italy, northern intaly that is...which is much the same as austria. in other words, our first 2 hours in italy i loved as a result... the further south we got, the flatter it got, the more industrial and dirty it got....luckily, the last stage of the drive was at night...it was a long day before we got to our hotel...the base hotel in mainland venice...brand new ...it was soooo nice...
