We went dirt biking (or I should say mud biking) on an island called Pulau Ubin through a nation park yesterday! Rebecca, our program coordinator said that she wanted to go and would love some company, so Katie, Margaret, Christine, Kevin and I took her up on her offer. This was a really tiny island with only about 100 inhabitants. We rented bikes for $3 for the entire day and took off! Katie took us though some crazy really small trails in the forest...full of mud! It was an adventure! For a while it seemed like riding my bike was abnormally hard...then Rebecca noticed that my back tire went flat! Kevin was so nice and walked my bike all the way back to the little town.
On our way home, we decided that we wanted sea food (or rather, everyone else wanted sea food...) and we ended up at the best restaurant I have been too so far! It was like fondue, but instead of cooking everything in oil, you cooked it in chicken broth! It also had a tin foil around the outside of the pot so you could grill things too. They had amazing chicken. At the end of the meal, we put noodles in our chicken broth and an egg...it was just like egg drop soup!! AND...it was all you could eat...ice cream included! :-)
Today, Katie, Margaret and I went to the World Beach Volleyball tour finals! It was SO AWESOME but extremely hot! We saw two tough games between Brazil and China. I think that the first game was the 2nd division and the 2nd game was the first division. They played best two out of three to 21. China won the first in two, but Brazil won the second in two. The Brazil fans were CRAZY! The games were absolutely amazing. We had so much fun!
