Berlin, boring?

Berlin is a city with a lot of history, all should know. But because I've been to Berlin once before, that wasn't the main reason to visit this city. Of course we visited the Holocaust Monument, wich caused a really naucious feeling to me. More then five million people were killed during the WOII. It's always a good thing to stand still by those who lost their lives during the war. Besides this monument the Berlin Wall is still visible. The wall which divided the city in two parts. Eventhough there are just a few metres left of it, a tourist attraction it is. But still, this wasn't where we came for. We came to have a good time, some of you would say party. But it turned out that Berlin isn't that much of a party city when you don't know where to go! Opposed to Amsterdam, with all his little squares with bars and clubs, there isn't a 'club-area' in the touristic part of the city. A local told us where to go, but after searching for one hour trough some dark streets and empty lanes the partymood was really gone. The local told us: "Once you found it (were looking for a club called the 'Rosies', someone know or found it) it won't look great from the outside". Well, the outside was so repealling that we never went outside. It was more looking like a dumpspot for garbage then a nice club. We finaly ended at a cocktailbar, not that bad either. But I can tell you, if you really want to party... please visit Amsterdam instead of Berlin. Anyway... I had a great weekend, ate a lot of Schnitzels (German meat), drunk some 'Halbe liters' (Let's say.. big beer) and haven't lost any money in the casino (could get in, because my jeans weren't part of the dresscode). So. See you in Amsterdam ;)

Really affordable hotel in the center of the former East-Berlin side of the city. Big plus of this hotel is the height of it: 37 floors! Casino on top… read entire review
