Roma: where past meets present
June 12, 2007
After two days of traveling though downtown Rome, I've decided it's a pretty cool place. Not only can you see modern buildings next to ancient ruins, but you also get to see the crazy no-lane driving as well as buy fake soccer jerseys for 10 euros. I got two. I'll give either one or both to Aaron, depending on how nice I feel. But anyway, today was great as we got to tour the ruins, and some of us went inside the Colusseum. It was huge, and thoughts of Russel Crowe battling in the sand were rushing through my mind. I also got to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe and get some great American food which I've been craving for a while. Nachos, a huge burger, and a T-shirt to cap it off. Other than than, everyone's been working pretty hard on schoolwork, since a lot of it is due this week. Tomorrow should be interesting, as we will be touring the Vatican and St. Peter's Square. Some people even got tickets to see the Pope speak in the morning. I'll have a second update from Rome later and post photos then. Chiao!
