Namaste!

Namaste namaste! My first trip to India but hopefully not my last. I know I say this about most places I travel to but India really is something special. Difficult to put into words but I will try my best. Being back in England now, not only does everything taste of nothing (hoping the damage to my tastebuds is only temporary) but life feels colourless, dull, organised and quiet. Not much compensation I know but I do have renewed appreciation of hot showers,  not blowing up electrical applicances every time i plug something in, and I promise to complain less about the traffic on M25! Not everything in India was great as you can probably imagine but I already miss the Indian spirit, the vibrancy and the smiles, that place got to me......

So this was a pretty intense travel experience, spending long hours on the road, to take in cities in Northern India, the Himalayas and banks of Ganges as well as a tiger safari. All this in only two weeks away from work, hence this tour was organised with a group of 11 of us being taken round by an Indian lady from Agra. There is no way doing this independently with just two weeks that we would have experienced so much or gone to such remote places (you will hopefully see what I mean). Also, having a local guide speaking the language really helped to flavor the culture a lot better.  I wrote a few notes into my phone during my travels as was impossible to get online so will write them up here with photos as soon as I can. Since I have been back though I have had some shit to deal with, work stuff (put it this way, my newly acquired meditation skills have come in handy!) so for those that have asked 'where the hell is your blog?' apologies....
