Scottish Highlands

Glen Coe Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

In July and August of 2000, my parents and I visited my mom's family in Donegal, Ireland. We decided to take in the rest of the country while we were at it, as well as visit Scotland, my dad's ancestral home.

Scottish Highlands

We spent a whole day just driving through the Highlands on the way to Loch Ness, stopping every so often to just take in the natural beauty of the surroundings.  Before spending three weeks driving through the Irish and Scottish countryside, I had no idea that the color green could be so rich and vibrant, or that certain shades even existed in nature.  Sure, in Southern California you get beautiful shades of blue water, but green grass and rolling hills?  Never. =)
