Old Middleton Distillery, Cork

Cork Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

In July and August of 2000, my parents and I visited my mom's family in Donegal, Ireland. We decided to take in the rest of the country while we were at it, as well as visit Scotland, my dad's ancestral home.

Old Middleton Distillery, Cork

On our way to Blarney the next morning, my father insisted we stop at the Old Middleton Distillery outside of Cork for whiskey tasting.  As I was 14 when this trip took place, I didn't really understand what was going on or why a free sampling of whiskey was so exciting, but I partook in it nevertheless.  My first taste of whiskey wasn't anything to write home about, but just seven short years later, I'm hooked. =)
