The Emerald Isle

In July and August of 2000, my parents and I visited my mom's family in Donegal, Ireland. We decided to take in the rest of the country while we were at it, as well as visit Scotland, my dad's ancestral home.

Leaving for our adventure

Dad and me at the airport, preparing to leave for Ireland
Plane tickets for three: $3000
Food, lodging and car rental for three weeks: $1500
Being 100% Celtic and finally coming "home": Priceless

Unfortunately, it's been quite some time since my parents and I embarked on this adventure.  As soon as we got back home I attempted to chronicle it by making a scrapbook, but lost interest after about four pages and didn't pick it back up for almost 7 years.  When I finally came across the pictures again, I was dismayed to discover that most of our Scotland pictures have long since been misplaced, and I no longer remembered details of a lot of the places we had visited in either country.

At any rate, this is my attempt at re-creating that trip to my ancestral home.  I apologize in advance for the lack of explanatory journal entries, due to my forgetting the details of many aspects of the trip.  The pictures will have to speak for themselves. =)
