Singapore Orchid Garden offers the largest display of orchids in the world with over 1000 species and 2000 hybrids.
I have managed to have a 10 hours stop-over in Singapore after our Silkair flight from Kuching before our night Singapore Airlines flight to CDG:I wanted to see LITTLE INDIA but the oppressive humid heat like in Borneo led us to have only a glance there sweating in a busy market full of flowers, garlands and cheap souvenirs(I couldn't find a "decent" Ganesh to put in my car!).We were lucky to find quickly a taxi to the BOTANIC GARDENS and find a relative coolness. This 63-hectare Gardens offers verdant landscapes,a great diversity of tropical plants. Its admission is free, open daily from 0500 to midnight.Don't miss there the NATIONAL ORCHID GARDEN open daily from 0830 to 1900 with an admission fees of 5SD.One can find there over 1000 species and 2000 hybrids :it is the largest display of orchids in the world!Unfortunately as we were in October, lots of species couldn't be seen.We have to come back!
Coming back to Changi airport,we enjoyed the new terminal III (last year it was in progress) before our night home flight
