First glimpse of Hong Kong
After enjoying a late breakfast and coffee at Cafe Habitu, we headed into the city by double-decker tram to check out the downtown area. There was people and madness everywhere! People running across streets, cramming onto sidewalks, in cars, stuffed into buses and trams, and more. On top of that there was cars everywhere, construction work, restaurants, signs, buildings, noise, and an odd pollution smell. Hong Kong causes a bit of sensory overload.

Once we got downtown, we walked around the shops, markets, and indoor shopping areas. It was nice to walk around and just take it all in. We also rode the Mid-level escalators that take shoppers up a large hill in the Central District of the city. It was a weird feeling to ride escalators outside in the middle of the busy streets! We then grabbed some lunch and relaxation at Peak Cafe before wandering back through the streets. We eventually made it back to JT's apartment before heading out to meet his friends from school, Toby and Niko.

We then rode the tram to the Mid-Level district where we had eaten lunch to find some dinner. After perusing the streets we settled on a Nepalese restaurant. The food was so delicious, spicy, and flavorful! We all really enjoyed it! We then headed back to Niko's apartment to watch an episode of the TV show, Mad Men, before heading to bed.
