One Day Too Long

my own afternoon on the beach

Our last day here.  After we ate breakfast, we walked down to the market area away from the resort.  Emily had a few last things to get as souvenirs.  When we got back to the resort, we went to the pool (trying to appease her) and the beach and I think we've just about had it with each other.  She's got an attitude that I'm sick of putting up with.  So, before it came to blows, we spent the afternoon apart.  I laid on the beach for hours.  And thoroughly enjoyed myself, soaking up the sun.  I think I even fell asleep because I woke up to a wedding next to me.  (Not the actual wedding, just where they had set up for one).  Emily supposedly went to the gym.  I don't know if she did or not, and I really don't care.

The afternoon apart must've done some good because we were able to get along for the evening.  We went to the Mexican buffet for dinner tonight.  I finally gave in and ate some ice cream, vanilla and coconut.  It's a good thing I waited until tonight, because I easily could have eaten that the entire time.  It was delicious!

We went to the beach for the last time, much as I don't want to say goodbye.  We stopped at one of the bars and had a couple drinks before coming back to the room to get packed up to leave.  We have to be out in the lobby area at 7 in the morning.  We pretty much decided that Emily stayed one day too long.  She doesn't like to be away from home and even though she says she's enjoyed the trip, it was one day too long.  I disagree for myself... I think I could live here!
