Back to the Routine...

I started the day at 6 AM, with a cold shower I was not happy about. Even more aggravating, was by the time Emily got around, there was hot water. We stole our breakfast (bananas and muffins) from the buffet before getting on the shuttle to the airport. I'm just glad to be able to take this ID bracelet off my wrist. I will probably feel it for days!
As part of the check-in/security process, we had to fill out flu symptom questionnaires and have our temperatures taken. We had a 10:30 departure from Cancun, so we had plenty of time to eat breakfast. While sitting there, we did see our luggage make it aboard (we had bright pink and lime green suitcases), so that was comforting.
I didn't let Emily have the window seat this time. I was a little selfish. I slept a lot of the way even though it was a slightly bumpy ride, storms over the Gulf. While we were claiming our luggage in St. Louis, security had put a marked bag on the carousel for the dog to find, which she did. Emily, the brainiac, got her cell phone out while we were still in customs, so I got to her before security did. But, since the rules don't apply to her, she used it in her pocket, anyway.
I hadn't returned through Lambert through this terminal before, and since we had to go through customs, it was a completely different area than I would have guessed. We had to find Mom outside. Since Dad wasn't able to come with Mom to pick us up, we waited to eat until we got back to Salem. After we made a quick stop at JoAnn's in Fairview, it was right back to the routine, supper at Rita's (a local cafe) like we do at least three nights a week.
