Climbing in Kalymnos
October 24, 2009
55 students... 27 scooters... 8 days... 1 island... More than 50 climbing sectors... Some of the most spectacular climbing routes of the world : in caves, above the sea, on tufas, on stalactites, in all ranges of climbing levels... Looks like it's going to be hard to decide where to climb, when to stop to take some pictures, when to rest... Or that we would need some extent of time and energy...
The first 4 days, we did climb a lot, and I didn't take that many pictures. Not enough time, even if the places and the light were really worth taking the camera out... But it's hard to enjoy both climbing and taking pictures, so I had to chose... "Hopefully", I quickly got tired, so during the last days, after a couple of hours of climbing, I was just too tired to continue, so I was able to take my camera out and enjoy !
Still, I want to go back there. Many times. Because there are so many great routes I didn't try. Because there are so many potential great pictures I didn't take. Because... Well, because it's Kalymnos. I think it's hard to fully understand if you've never been there before...
