Shhhhh....

Can you keep a secret???

You can???

Cool...

Do not tell anyone, especially those Bali obsessed Australian teenagers but I have found Heaven in an island paradise off the coast from Bali & Lombok.

The Gili Islands are enough to make you wonder what all the hype is with Bali. Bali & Fiji will forever be the stereotypical dream honeymoon destinations. However, after visiting the Gilis, I know I have now scratched Bali off that list in favour for them. Fiji has yet to be seen by me but one day...sooner rather than later I hope I will.

I must admit I am not even considering my honeymoon yet. Being a single lad kind of throws a stop to that. Also being male, it is hard to think about marriage in the future tense until it comes upon you.

Random Indonesian Islands

The three Gili Islands are beautiful. Gili Trawangan is where I spent my time. It was heavenly and exactly what I was looking for. I think this is what I wanted from Bali or even Kho Phi Phi. It is even nicer than Praia de Pipa in the northeast of Brazil which until today was my favourite place on Earth.

The island is beautiful. There are no roads apart from the sandy ones. There are no cars on the island. Once there was but the locals threw it out into the sea. Bikes or horse & carts are the way to go here.

The snorkelling is fantastic. The best I have seen before.

The food, is typically amazing by Indonesian standards. The sea food is out of this world.

The bars are, well simply put, the bars are great craic.

God deserves major credit for these islands. I reckon this is the place that Angels would trade in their wings for, just to have a little two week holiday.

Will I come back here? What a silly question, I will come back again and again as often as possible.

It would be more peaceful but more expensive too! All the Gili's are beautiful though, I cannot wait to get back there
