The Big Night Out

We headed back to Koala-less Lumpur in the morning only to arrive and see the streets badly flooded everywhere.
Things were not looking well for our hopeful night out with Michelle (http://www.travbuddy.com/meiyen) & all the others later on.
The last time we trekked across town only to find out that the chosen bar was not yet open, as not yet open for the first time. It did seem like it had the potential to be a really good bar though.
Things seemed more promising this time as far more people had confirmed to come this time. Alas it was not to be, this time.
Everyone bar Michelle had to pull out. This was not a great disappointment as Michelle was very much full of energy, despite coming straight from work, and really made up for the lack of people.
We met her in TwentyOne on a really cool bar lined street just off of Bukit Bintang that I had somehow missed everytime I had previously been in KL as had Matthew. After manys a drink there we left for some nightclub down the road but for the first time in my life I was turned away by the doorman so we went back to the bar lined street and ended up in some Irish bar I believe or at least it served Guinness.
I had a great night out with Michelle. As I say, she is full of energy and loves a good laugh. I will definitely stay in touch with her as I will be coming back through KL many more times on this trip alone, besides, I apparently promised to cook the dinner next time and she insists I promised to wash the dishes too but Im not sure on the last one hehe.
Oh and lads, if you ever intend on going to a club in KL, dont be silly and wear your flip flops, it aint allowed.
Since meeting the lovely Michelle on this night and having a great night out, I regret to say she has since passed away. I had, like many many others, promised to come see her again and naturally promised to put her up wherever I happen to be living. Her passing has been a major shock to all. She is a massive loss to her friends, family and indeed the TravBuddy community. 303 friends, 17 vouches, 20 blogs, 54 reviews, and so many more helpful and happy comments it is easy to say this site and indeed everything else will be worse off without her.
RIP Michelle (MeiYen) Wong 5th May 1974 - 14th January 2011
Gone but never shall she be forgotten.
