Mt. Fuji

We're up very early on Saturday morning. At 5:30 a.m. we leave the hotel and make our way in the pre-dawn darkness along the narrow streets of the old town.  We try to be a quiet a possible, while rolling out suitcases behind us. When we reach the main street, a tour bus is wating to take us to the Osaka airport. We will fly to Narita and connect there with our flight to Washington. At the Osaka Airport I finally have a chance to try a canned coffee from a vending machine. The coffee is hot, but the aluminum can doesn't burn, and is pretty good.

The flight to Tokyo is only an hour and midway during the flight the famous peak comes into view. There is haze, but we see Mt. Fuji at last!  I scramble to take pictures from an available window.

The CYO families came to Narita Airport to see us off. There was time for last minute picture taking and gift exchange. All too soon it was time to report to our departure gate. No time for duty-free shopping!
