Irish countryside on way from Doolin to Glaway

One of the downfalls of a bus tour is you are at the mercy of the tour guide and bus driver. You go where they want to take you, in the time frame they want to take you to it. While our final stop of the day was to be Galway they wanted to take us to a marble factory outside of Galway. It was an interesting stop, but while we where there I realized it was going to interfere with plans I had made to get something special in Galway. This is something I had been planning for a long time and it disappointed me greatly. I cant say what this special something is, because the person it is intended for might be reading these entries, and it is suppose to be a surprise. As I realized this, I looked around the marble shop and found something special in and of itself, just in case.

I am still going to get what I wanted, but I wanted it to be specifically from Galway.  With the shops having restricted hours here on Sunday, and the tour plans to have us on a day trip that will have us out of town all day, I may not be able to pull it off. Well, I am resourceful, so we will see.

As expected, we did not get into town and to our hotel until about 5pm. We received our room keys, but when we got to the room we both realized as soon as we walked in that somebody had been smoking in it. That just would not do. I am already coughing from the damp weather and the cigarette smoke would pretty much assure I would have further problems. So we went back down to the main desk and requested a room change. They were able to accommodate us and we were quickly in another room.

It is pretty nice.  I will be writing hotel reviews later.

After we were in our room, Brian wanted to lay down to take a nap. Poor kid had fallen asleep on the bus a couple of times and looked like one of those dashboard dogs with his head bobbing all around. I told him I was going out and would be back in a bit. I was hoping the shop I was looking for might still be open, but it was not. I wondered around the shopping district in Galway for a bit and then headed back to the room. Brian woke up when I came back in and said he was hungry, so we went out for a bite and then wondered around for a bit. We finally ended up at the room. Brian has homework he has to do, and we thought this would be a good time to do some of it. I don't know if he did, as I fell asleep reading while he was on the laptop.
