All Packed Up And No Place To Go

Was meant to check out at 10am, but with it being cold and grey hung about as long as I could. Even got round to reading the card from the Ministry Of The Interior and their valuable insights on how to look after your cash and luggage and that drugs and prostitution were naughty things to be involved in while in Romania.
Still at 11-30 I thought I'd pushed it long enough and handed my key in and set out once more. Decided to go round the Casa Populari one last time, I'm really going to miss it :-D and headed along the boulevard to the Piata Unirii. The one thing that had struck me while in Bucharest was the LACK of trams. There are some , but they just seem to run to the edge of the city centre and there are two seperate turning circles for them on wither side of the Piata Unirrii.
Thought that since I hadn't been up round the Gara De Nord, I would head for there. Turned out not to be worth the bother, and is a pretty shabby area round about it, even compared to the rest of the city. Still for TB purposes it was worth checking out as no doubt many coming here will arrive at the station. Like the airports best to avoid the taxis and turn left when come off the station concourse and through the Billeteria (ticket office) and out the door there and you will be right at the Metro station 8).
With no real sense of purpose I went back to the Piata Romano, as the night we had been in the pub there I had clocked a small statue of a wolf and Romulus and Remus suckling, but it was to dark then to get a decent photo. Managed a clear picture this time.
After that we headed back down to Bordellos and stayed there for a good while, meeting a guy I had met on Monday night and two boys I had met in Florence a couple of years ago. Calum and the other boys were staying in a £6 a night hostel so I decided to leave them to it, at 11pm, and went back up to the Piata Romano to get a bus out to Banessa Airport, which cost just 1-30 Lei ( about 33p in UK Sterling).
Part of the reason I had decided to overnight it was that the flight was originally scheduled for 6am and I would have to be there for 4 and it didn't seem worth it for a few hours, and partly that I didn't trust myself to get up at that time :-D .
was sitting about when a local guy came in and plugged his phone charger into one of the sockets the cleaners had been using and figured I would do the same. Had another couple of beers before Calum and the rest arrived at quarter to three and we hung about until the check in fianlly opened at half past three. Still it was a drain and I was starting to feel it but eventually we went through to departures at quarter to six, and it is one of the worst I have been in. It is tiny, and because of the new restrictions on the earliest departures for flights out of Banessa there were three full flights crammed into all scheduled to depart at 7am.
