StatueS of Liberty!
More of a business trip, so was mostly at work. My office was at Times Square. So, saw the main attractions on a regular basis. I covered the other attractions like Empire State Building, World Trade Center renovation site, World financial center , United Nations, Grand Central over a Saturday. As I was staying in Manhattan itself, I used to walk to see these places. The weather was chilling cold in October, so it was really enjoyable to walk and see around. My apartment was in Seventh Avenue and Empire State Building was viewable from window. And it was surrounded by some really old British style buildings which was really, to me, a kind of contrast. Over the next weekends, I saw the Statue of Liberty, Little Italy, Lincoln Street, Wall Street, China Town etc. And also a bit of New Jersey and countryside places like Bear Mountain, Buchanan village.
However, if I have to say the most memorable part of my trip was flying over Atlantic. The view was spectacular with occasional occurrences of white patches on deep blue sea, presumably icebergs. And also, when the flight was landing at JFK. I have captured the images of the large containers, speed-boats on the sea, smooth roads and stacked-up cars, fall-colors of the trees, beautiful houses with gardens and lawns only in my memory through the lens of my eyes! I would never be able to explain the feeling of landing to JFK in words.
