Left in stitches
...
didn't follow through with it. I fell asleep with a huge smile on
my face and woke up still grinning. I was very excited to head to
the beach with my new pal. (Really though,
I was so giddy imagining him sleeping and showering with my motorcycle
helmet. How funny it would have been if his head got stuck!
hahahaha!!!)
I was sore. My sides ached like you wouldn't
believe, my cheeks hurt also. I laid in bed giggling about
everything that happened since we met at Starbucks. How sad that
we meet friends for such brief periods. But at the same time I'm
very grateful even for the little time we've had. Onto our
day. At 8am Ian was up and ready just like I requested.
We first head to Crystal Cove, a hidden gem between Newport and Laguna Beach.
It was a beautiful day, the sky and beach was blue as can be and the sun was burning his white skin!! Aaahhhhh! California! We take a special short bus to our destination. I'm not sure if Ian usually drools and hangs out the window with his tongue out, but this is the first I noticed. I should have let him keep my helmet. lolWe wander through the little community to the cafe... a few steps from the water on the sand. We share an omelet with Portuguese sausage (my favorite) and some fruit on the side. We also ordered some coconut pancakes… these were a bit better than the ones I had with Daniel… but both were soooooo delicious! I think the syrup made these!! Yuuuuummm.
We try to have a more serious conversation, but it doesn't go to well. I don't know what it is about us, but we just can't stop laughing. Maybe it's because I think he's funny looking and he thinks I'm funny looking, but as soon as we look at each other, games over. We're having a giggle fest and everyone is looking. Most important, we don't care. After our meal, we head to Treasure Island in Laguna. This is one of my favorite beaches! This is where I sun bathe and snorkel most of the summer. Ian quickly found out why. It is gorgeous. It sits in front of my mansion. I rarely take TB’s here to stay only because I’m afraid they’d go wild and invite everyone on TB! Maybe one day I’ll host a meet here.
Ian
grew fearful when we headed down to the water when I mentioned the
shark sightings and how I tried to drown my boyfriend there a few weeks
ago. I ended up keeping my boyfriend around
because we rode his motorcycle down to the beach and I had no other way
home... that and I really enjoy riding with him…. Maybe next time.
Ian had just about enough and wanted to get to the airport, so we made our way back up to the cliffs. I gave him once last push into a giant plant with spikes just for kicks. We laughed until our sides hurt… wait, that's been hurting since Sunday morning. I
had a few more minutes to torment him. On the drive to the
airport he said he was not a fan of Hawaiian music, so I pull out my
favorite Hawaiian cd and sing my heart out.
Once at the airport, he took his bag from my trunk and tried to make a run for it. But before he could, I made him give me a hug and I posted a "kick me" sign on his back. Whoo hoo!!
Take care Ian. I hope your butt isn’t as sore as your side!! I’ll miss you!!!
p.s. Ian, I’m sorry I gave you the wrong number before we met. I was so worried you would want to talk to me before the meet and I wasn't really interested in being your friend! Hahahaha!!! JK, Really though, sorry!
Thanks again to the organizers for all the work you put in.
Adrian, thanks for all the directions to get me lost around town and in Sedona. lol
Mark, for putting up with my cheery butt so early in the morning and driving to AZ and back, you’re such a balla!!!! I loved traveling with you and hope to do so again and again!
Daniel, for driving us all over Scottsdale, Sedona and trusting me to drive your car… and making sure I had a great time. I hope to travel with you again soon.
To all the guys I swam in the gutter with, thanks for the laughs.
And thanks to all the travbuddies who came out and made this weekend a fantabulous one!!
And of course, Ian… for the endless laughs, pillow fight, for not spitting beer all over me, for sharing in the crazy ideas, and all the inside jokes that keep me giggling everyday. I can’t wait to see you again and be left in stitches.
Big kisses to all!!!!!!!
