I just got back from a fun trip to the Grand Canyon.   It was a hiking trip from the north rim down and up the south rim . On the way to the canyon we stop at Antelope Canyon. This is a slot canyon we hike down into and though with all the twists and turns.  A day of exploring the North Rim, we warned up hiking on the Widforss Trail (appx 10 miles RT) The next day we started out at 6:30 am down the North Kaibab Trail. We were heading for Phantom Ranch. Which was 14 miles away with 5,700-foot descent.  Along the way stopping at Roaring Springs, Cottonwood Camp, Ribbon Falls, several other stops finality arriving at Phantom Ranch at 3:30pm.  What a hike!!!!. Spending two nights at the ranch hiking around checking out the sites and many overlooks. Then it was time to hike out on the Bright Angel Trail 9.6 miles, 4,400 feet of elevation gain leaving at 6:30 am heading up to the first of many switchbacks. Starting with Devils Corkscrew, then to Tapeats Narrows to Indian Gardens, Jacobs Ladder up through the Redwall to at last the rim. Arriving at the South Rim around 2:00 pm. And a night at The El Tovar Hotel with a great dinner. Then back to reality and after a stop or two on the way back home.  Bummer vacation over!!!!
