Bali: A Two Weeks Romantic Getaway In Paradise

I remember going to Bali for the first time in the early 90ies, was our last destination of Java-Bali overland tour. The first time I was on that island, I fell in love with it, the beauty, the nature, the culture, the people - everything!! Since then, I thought after I finished college and work, I would have to come back here often. And yes, it has been my holiday destination for years!

This year, it is even more special, I went to the island with James (pearcetoyou), my love. He was coming to town to spend two weeks with me here, so we thought of spending our time in Bali and while being there, he also wanted to see the place where my profile picture was taken.

A month before the day, we had finished booking everything, flights, hotels, driver and some places to see. We decided to stay in quiet places by the ocean, to relax and enjoy more. Arriving in Bali late at Friday night, it was pretty exhausting especially for James, flying from Taipei after seeing his friends, and then few hours in Jakarta waiting for the flight to Bali.

We stayed at Mercure Resort Sanur. There were not many things to see in Sanur, it is a quiet place, mostly for honeymooners, family or couples to relax. But we enjoyed our stay here, we could go to Kuta easily by taxi as we did couple times. Once was when we had the meetup with Sarj (kickasstunner) and Andre (woosah), was a fun time at the Apache Bar Legian then late dinner. Mercure was great, we enjoyed our time there and the place was very nice.

After a few days, we checked out from Mercure and moved to Best Western in Pecatu Dreamland area.

We rented a car with the driver to take us to Best Western as it is pretty far from Sanur. While having the 10 hours car, we thought it was the best time to go to Kintamani, the place where I took my profile picture. The place was as beautiful as I was there last time. We dropped by to the coffee plantation and the Monkey Forest in Ubud before heading to Hu’u Bar at Seminyak for a meetup with another couple from Jakarta, Rini (inirr) and her husband Santo.

We arrived at the Best Western at night. It was great to find out that they had free scheduled shuttle to Kuta everyday. We spent the rest of the holiday in this area of Dreamland and Uluwatu, one of the most beautiful places in Bali, beautiful beaches and beautiful view from the cliffs facing the Indian Ocean. James and I were having wonderful moments in some great places there. Watching the sunset at The Rock Bar and having a romantic dinner at the Dava, both are at the Ayana Resort (former Ritz Carlton) Jimbaran, watching my baby swimming in the Indian Ocean for hours!!!, going to the Uluwatu temple and enjoying Kecak Dance, not to forget, enjoying one of the most beautiful resort of Bvlgari!!! Everything was beautiful, but the presence of my love, made it perfect!

Then finally I woke up knowing that it was the day James had to go back home.

I don’t want to describe how it felt, but all I have to keep in mind is that we will be together again SOON. Bali was great as always, but that was the best trip ever, and this is just the beginning of our coming trips! Thank you for this, I love you, James.
