White Island was pretty fantastic. Absolutely beautiful day! No cloud in the sky. We saw the island, with it’s crater lake, lots of steam and sulphur smell. It was all safe - helmets and gas masks, I needed the mask a couple of times as the steam got into your throat.
Took 1 ½ hrs each way, 2 hrs on the island and a small cruise around the island while eating the lunch.
The sea was calm with few waves but not much. I was sitting up top under shelter, so it was quite warm - although the sun sent me to sleep.
