We’re off to Melbourne! We are busting with excitement! We have everything we need including heaps of maps. I’m the navigator, Dave is the driver. We hit the road early, picking up the rental car at 8am. We were suppose to get a Toyota Rav4, because apparently somebody needed in it Melbourne. We were only paying for an economy rental but they upgraded us so they could get the car delivered as soon as possible. When we arrive to get the car, the agent doesn’t know what we’re talking about as the paper work apparently hasn’t been processed. She gave us the worst customer service making us feel bad about something they had offerred us. Gah. In the end we get a sweet little Toyota Corolla (which we loved by the way).
We want to make it to Apollo Bay by 9pm so there is no time to waste! The drive is amazing.
We want to see the twelve apostles, a famous series of rock formations off the coast. We rush to see them before the sun sets. We stop along the way at many other look outs, our jaws dropping at the gorgeous views! We get some fantastic photos despite the fading daylight! Unfortunately we get to the twelve apostles too late, the sun has gone down.
We’ve rented an amazing place for the night. It’s its own cabin built behind the renters house in Apollo Bay. We love it immediately. We settle in for the night, looking forward to the morning and the Canada vs. US Olympic gold medal final!!!
And they win GOLD!!! Amazing eh! YOW!!!! Dave and I watch the game over breakfast in bed at the B&B. We jump and dance around at the win. What a morning! Now its off to Melbourne...let the journey continue...
