Day of walking and shopping

Today we had a lazy morning and then went out walking around the area of town that Kathy lives in.  We visited a few shops that had Bangladesh handicrafts.  Today is a day off (like our Sunday) here - so many businesses were closed.

Tonight we had another good dinner (warmed up left overs that the cook had made).

We have really enjoyed Dhaka.  It is so nice that they have banned petrol and diesel vehicles from the city and have replaced them with cleaner , greener compressed natural gas vehicles.  We did not notice any air pollution (we were here during holiday so that may be part of the reason also).  People go out of their way to say good morning or hello.

They have banned plastic bags and give out paper or jute bags with purchases

Tomorrow we head back to India.  We fly from Dhaka to Calcutta and then change planes and go to Bangalore.  We arrive at about 10pm and there will be a driver there to meet us.  This driver will take us around the southern tip of India where eventually we will  end up in Cochin and then head to Mumbai.  I am not sure about when we will have internet connections next.......will post a note as soon as I can.
