Well, we arrived safe and sound last night.  After 30 hours of traveling we were very tired.

The Thikana B&B has proved to be an excellent choice (although I was wondering a bit last night when we arrived  -and as we were so tired it all seemed to be a bit overwhelming)  After a good nights sleep in very comfortable beds - we felt much better and were raring to go.

This morning we had breakfast with some other guests - they were very interesting to talk to as they had lived in Delhi for a few years and were back to visit some people.  We picked their brains for tips about what to see and do.

A little later the owners wife arrived and she was even more helpful.  With the help of a map and we set out a plan for the day and for tomorrow.

We hired a car with driver who waited for us at each place we went.  For the whole day  - to have him take us around (8 hours) it only cost 18 dollars!

We have hired him again for tomorrow as we still have things on our list that we want to do

What I have loved today is seeing all the beautiful sari's that the women are wearing.  The colours are magnificent.

Of course one of the places we went to today was FabIndia - the place to buy Indian clothes - Ann and I both did well - augmenting the sari outfit (s) that we had brought with us.

Tonight we are going out to dinner at a restaurant that is apparently and institution here - the food they say is spectacular.

Will sign off now and hopefully will be able to add another entry soon.
