Trip Comes to an end...
Now in Lima and need to catch at tax at 4:40am tomorrow to Santiago, Chile and after 12 hours there will be headed for a flight back to the United States. I spent last night out with a Lilly co-worker from the Lima office. We went to a local show to enjoy some display of local dances and today another Lilly employee will be giving me a city tour of the city.
Overall a good trip. Three countries. Over a dozen cities and over 2500 miles traveled. I definitely had some rough spots before getting to Cuzco between sickness and riots but all turned out well and I stuck to my plan better than I thought I would. I did learn that the few things I did reserve ahead of time I wish I didn“t as flexibility is always a key when in third world countries.
Traveling alone for this long of a time and always be a bit boring. It is amazing how quickly you can bond with others during taxi rides and hostals. I was fortunate enough to have a great group of friends in Cuzco where I had my bit of freedom, but also always people to share good times with.I am looking forward to getting back to the states. I have a craving for a cheese coney and three way that will be fulfilled pretty quickly after arrival and also look forward to descent breakfast for a few mornings as bread and better can get a bit boring after five weeks (that reminds me that they have a dunkin donuts here that I am going to go check into now). I also look forward to seeing what my new apartment looks like in Michigan...so until next week when I will be blogging from the top of an elephant...adios!!!
