Although we had to check out of our hotel this morning, we were able to leave the car parked at the back of the hotel. We went out of the ground floor doors and walked up to the cable car. We bought our one way tickets and had a ride up to where there is a Tram Museum and a restaurant / cafe.

After looking around for a while we started the walk back but Andrew and I already knew what we would be doing. We took the track that led us to the Rose garden again. Andrew etc like cappacinos so we stopped for a while again. It is lovely there. Then we continued our walk which led us through the old cemetry. It is amazing, Then across the walkway over the motorway and into the CBD. A great walk! We still had some time before we had to get to the airport so we went back to the hotel and got the car.

We found the place that we wanted to show May and Frank, 'Old St Pauls Cathedral' We had a look in there and listened to the organ being played as they were practicing for a wedding. It is a beautiful old church. I also bought some rosary beads there.

We still had some time so we went to the Te Papa museum for a couple of hours. You really need a whole day here.

It was getting late and we still had to have a light meal so we just went to the airport, checked our luggage in and went and found some comfortable seats. We found something to eat, relaxed and waited for our flight to Auckland.  It was a late flight, not arriving in Auckland till 9.30pm. when were we meant to pick up the rental car keys from the isite in the domestic airport.

We collected our bags and went to find the isite, but before we could see it we asked some one who told us that the isite was closed and we would proberbly have to collect the key from the international terminal isite. Although we were told that we could get the free shuttle, we had just missed it! We then started to walk. Not that far, the night was pleasant but we were tired so we were not happy with the car rental company for the mix up. I had asked them specifically if it would be ok because of the time and they reassured me that it wasn't a problem.

Well, after a 10/15 minute walk we found the isite and thankfully were able to get the car keys. May had sat down with her parcels and was exhausted. We then got to the car and headed for the appartment in the city. By the time we checked in and got into the appartment it was nearly 11.30pm. and we had had enough. Time to unwind.
