Today started at 4am because I had to get to the airport to catch my 6am flight. The flight was rather uneventful and I slept the whole way. I got off in Miami in concourse D and took the tram to my connecting flight in concourse E. I sit down to find out that my gate has changed so I hop back on the tram and went back to concourse D. I found myself a spot on the floor and started reading my book when they announce that my gate has changed again so it was back to concourse E. About ten minutes before the flight was supposed to board I spotted Javier and Amy in the waiting area at our gate. Our flight was then delayed because the bathroom and the AC were not working.
After airport hell, we finally arrived in St. Thomas and it was beautiful. Hilly tree-covered islands, steep cliffs and bright houses spotted the landscape. We received a free rum punch upon landing and it was off to the Best Western Beach Resort to meet up with Will, Megan and Pete who were passing the time at the beach side bar. We had dinner at the bar and drank there for the rest of the night watching the waves roll in. The rum punches were STRONG! Will says that rum is cheaper than the mixers so all the drinks on the rest of the trip are going to be strong. It was a long day of travel so we all went to bead early. We get our boat tomorrow! I’m so excited!
