2 am and can't sleep on first night

Well, I can't sleep, so I decided to start my blog. I'm in my hotel room right now. The highway is right next to it so it's really fricking loud! I also had a late night pancake dinner at Denny's, so I'm all sugared-up!
Unfortunately my step sister was unable to come, which I'm disappointed about. Her friends car (in which she had left her passport) was stolen just the other night. :( Oh well. I shall have to have twice as much fun then.
The one thing I hate about travelling in the US is the money...it all looks the same! Being Canadian, I am used to the multi-coloured bills that make it easy to know what you're pulling out of your wallet. Here, everything is green.
Despite how close Canada and the US are, there's such a big difference (at least in my opinion) when you're here. I think a lot is due to the sheer number of people here. I'm just so used to my small town of Mission where the highway is two-laned. The I-5 we're travelling on southward has up to 8 lanes sometimes! It just boggles my mind.
I'm very excited for Portland though! It's definitely one of the coolest cities I've ever visited.
*Sigh*
