Me inside the 600 year old Ranakpur Jain Temple.
Early on during the drive, i had asked Pawan about a particular temple, he said it was a Jain temple. I mentioned that I'd like to go to one at some point during the trip because in the States, there is really no chance of my seeing a Jain temple. He said we'll go to one soon.
On our way to Udaipur, I'm feeling better and i got word that the money has been sent. Pawan asked if i'd like to stop at a Jain temple on the way, its alittle off our route but its one of his favorite places to go. I happily agreed and we're heading toward the Ranakpur Jain temple. A Temple built more than 600 years ago. All carved out of marble, it was incredible! the carvings show scenes from the Jain religion. And we were allowed to take pictures of anything except the main idols. A Monk was showing tourists around and explains things. People kept asking him if this was the Buddha. I could swear he was gonna slap the next person who asked that! Someone even asked me if it were Buddhism, when I replied that it was a different religion, they asked if it was Hindu. It's not. Jainism is a completely different religion, look it up if you're interested. After about an hour of looking around I went back to the car and thanked Pawan for bringing me there. Off to Udaipur.
