Space and Rocket Science Center
April 19, 2008
They don't offer tours of where they make the rockets anymore because of security reasons, but if you show your military ID you get in for free. They also have 3D movies you can pay extra for, but the one I saw wasn't that great. The biggest rocket they have is the Saturn V, which is on its side and in a building the length of a football field. There are quite a number of exhibits, but a large portion of the center is reserved for the space camp, and those interesting simulators aren't available to the general public. What's really odd is that you didn't even get a tour to see what the spacecamp is all about. Outside there are several rockets for space travel, as well as military rocket launchers, and a walk through trailer that looks like the inside of a space station. They also have a space shot ride. Also in the museum is a Harley Davidson motorcycle made out of bronze from the Statue of Liberty.
