Hmm where should i begin? i should have written this when i just came back from NZ but things just started to come up and to write this mmm i just simply put that aside for a while. excuse...excuse...excuse..lol Anyway, was passed midnight when i arrived in Auckland so there was not much to do at that time other than just went straight to bed. Woke up still feeling tired coz lack of sleep, we headed down to Rotorua and stayed over night there, approximately 2 hours drive from Auckland. it was cold and bit smelly there coz of the sulfur, they call it even Smellyrua instead of Rotorua, now i know why! lol.

Rotorua
anyway, after checked in to the hotel and thought perhaps we should open the champagne(which delivered late btw, it was supposed to be a surprise in the room when we got in!!) but then decided to wait til evening time where we're more relaxed. That evening we went to the hotspring just across our hotel and have a dip there. it was soo lovely and romantic as the lights was dim and we chose the pool where we can enjoy dipping in different temperatures of the hotsprings, this even much more fun :) i can imagine during the day time, the view overlooking lake there must be breathtaking. Was good idea to do this as it was freezing there. taking a dip in a 37 degrees celcius up to 43 was definately a bloody good soak!

The next day we went for drive to Lake Taupo, weather was not very friendly as it was pouring the whole time, so we just stayed in the room, was nice room as it was overlooking the lake plus the room was equipped by private bath spa, so i guess it wasn't too bad to just stay in.

Luge track, Rotorua
Had some dinner in nearby Italian restaurant, devine pasta and steak by the way. We stayed only one night in Taupo then headed back to Auckland passing by Rotorua again to try Cable car and luge ride, that was the only plan but my bf made us to try also "Sky Swing" without any prior negotiation with me! and i'm normally not the person who likes to try anything that can rush adrenalin or at least near to that. Obviously the cable car ride was soo awesome and beautiful as it's on top of the hill and you can see the view of Rotorua on the back once the cable car started gliding. The luge ride was awesome and fun, this is my favourite as we can just cruise down and enjoy the scenic view, bumping to the edge of the track at some point is not new anymore, so long as we enjoy the ride.
my bf almost broke his leg tried to put his leg out of the luge as he thought that was the brake!! hahaha so silly. Anyway, once we finished luging, they took us back to top in a ride where u can just hop in and sit, again with continously beautiful view along the way. After sipping a nice hot choco and luckily snapped a beautiful rainbow there, we headed home. On the way back to the city, we had one more stop over in  Hamilton and stayed overnight at a friend's house. Indulging some cambodian food. mmm yummy! Thanks Sok Chea, was indeed a pleasant stay.

I tried Maori traditional food for the first time, it's called "Hangi", they cooked this food underground, but not like that "6 feet under" series, this is too scary to imagine :)  anyway, after they put everything ready like chicken, pork or lamb, sweet potato(kumara), potato, some other herbs that they stuff with the pork or lamb, cabbage, forgot what else.

then it's like they burry it and smoked it. it's very traditional way. we had almost similar way of this exotic cooking in one of the province in Indonesia. When it's cooked the taste was soo delicious not to mention we had it on top of the look out of Auckland called One Tree Hill, this place is quite popular for barbie(how they short 'barbecue") over the weekend.

Enjoying take away fish and chips by the beach in Devenport with agressive birds trying to join our lunch is another story. Yet this day was still pretty pleasant. Ferry ride to Waiheke island, passing by Rangitoto island and some islands along the way is one of my favorite things, Waiheke is so relaxed and laid back place, not much happening there, the beach was beautiful, again never get bored with fish and chips, we headed to some bar by the beach and ordered another one :) Tasted delicious Whitebait also in one of the restaurant in Mission Bay as it was its season at this time.

Road trip to Bay of Island and enjoying jet boating the next weekend, bit intense honestly but was damn good ride, and definately got soaked up, yea blame the captain as he intended to do this to all passangers :D i guess that was the purpose of this ride: to get totally wet!! it was bumpy sailing and pretty fast ride at some point, was bit worry if i got thrown out from the boat :D Love when the boat bouncing up and down felt like big swell tried to throw us away, the feeling was mix, between fun and nervous actually. but was definately wicked!

On one evening we indulging a very nice dinner on the top floor of Auckland Sky Tower, was a seafood night hmmm my favorite, what could be better night than having the whole view of the city while indulging a platter of seafood mmmm.

On the next weekend we off to Wellington to see Rugby Tri Nations, All Blacks vs Wallabies. as it's over the weekend trip, we thought just to take plane on the way there and coming back by train(as it's 12 hours ride!!). and we didn't book any hotel yet coz we thought we will be out drinking the whole night right after the game. When we got there it was freezing, much colder then Auckland. hmm not a good start plus we don't have any accommodation. so we thought maybe we should stay overnight but after going into each hotel and backpacker places apperantly there was no room, as it was big event there and of course all the 1,2,3,4,5 stars hotel are fully booked! Great! then we thought we just stayed in some bar until morning while waiting for our train back to Auckland.

The game was awesome and it was so good to be in the crowd and watch how they're so into the game, shouting on the other team, sometimes it's funny, and everybody cheering up for their favorite team. In the end of the game, it was All Blacks night :D Yippey!! after the game we just kept on rounding and rounding for a warm place and there was coffee shop open, so we stayed there for a while. i guess we changed our mind not to drink all night in the bar and decided just to have quite night sipping a nice latte. unfortunately coffee shop didn't open til midnight, so we headed to Holiday Inn and have some drinks there and watch another rugby game on a big screen, stayed til around 1am. after this? we didn't know where to go and we ended up going to train station and spent the night there along with another backpacker who waited for the train in the morning.
it was freezing cold and there was no heater in the station, there were only few benches there for us to sit and even we were locked up and not allowed to make noises or walk around as the camera will spot us and it will go to alarm and police will come, actually they were not suppose to have people stayed overnight in the train station but a good samaritan who works there allowed us to stayed in since we're cathing the train the next morning. so we all tried to sleep but of course it was hard and we tried to even squeeze ourselves on a bench and kept ourself warm. i couldn't stop laughing, was peed on my pants literally!! was soo funny me and my bf can't stop giggling try to put in our common sense of how we got into this situation. then not long after the guy came and we told him that we wanted to go out, then we went back to Holiday Inn and sit in the lobby the whole night, i fell asleep and my bf stayed awake just to make the impression to the hotel staff that we're not actually there to sleep so one of us should be awake!! luckily it wasn't me lol.
The next day we managed to catch the train back to Auckland, what a night!!! The journey on the train was amazing, though we were soo tired but we still managed to enjoy breathtaking view along the way, was spectacular, one of my favorite view was when we passed by a mountain(forgot what it's called) with sprinkle of snow on top, just like a postcard and also when we had to stop in a National Park to have a lunch there.

There were more places that i visited in NZ and I enjoyed every single of it, even if it was raining:) Next trip to New Zealand, definately need to check out the South Island. I'm excited already!!
