A lazy day in Split

Sometimes travel plans don't turn out the way as planed. As much as this is frustrating, it can be an opportunity to a new experience. In my case, I was to be partying in London right now. Instead, I will be on a sailing boat with a bunch of strangers, most probably freezing my butt off ..... I can't wait!

Stuis Toerns' "Bavaria Chianti" is to set out from Split tomorrow, and I took the opportunity to visit my friend Mirjana in Split for a couple of days before that. Also met with my cousins and some other friends, enjoying the sunbathed city and a carefree mind. Talk about getting away. The weather is chilly, and my only concern about this whole thing is how to keep warm while on the sea. I went fishing a couple of times in my life, and know one thing for sure: out on the sea it is COLD! And since this is my first sailing trip ever, the lady at the charter's office recommended medication against sea sickness, also a new territory for me. Another challenge: spending a whole week in a 15 m boat with 7 strangers. Well, it is safe to say, that the upcoming week will be adventurous.

Scarlett O'Hara said in her last scene in "Gone with the wind" while wiping away her tears, something like 'I won't cry anymore. I'll cry again tomorrow. Tomorrow's another day'. Well, I guess I'll go along with that right now and stop thinking about tomorrow. Cause right now it's  party time in Split.
