Sunday was going to be even more lazy than Saturday, at least until we headed back into Kuta later in the day to meet up with Andre www.travbuddy.com/woosah and Sarj www.travbuddy.com/kickasstunner. At lunchtime we walked down the beach looking for something that might interest us, but didn’t bring money, so we went back to the hotel and decided on checking things out on the street side.
Directly across from the Mercure was the Cabe Merah restaurant, which had free wifi. So we spent a little time there, ordered drinks, and uploaded photos on the internet. As we were sitting there, Asri pointed out a HUGE bat that was hanging in the tree just beside the restaurant.
After that entertainment, we went further down the street to an Italian restaurant called the Sale E Pepe and enjoyed some lasagna…both Asri’s and my favorite food! By the time we went back to the hotel and showered, it was time to go into Kuta. We were texting with Sarj and decided to meet at the Baroque restaurant in the Discovery mall.
Asri and I arrived a little early, so we ordered some drinks, had an appetizer, and snapped some pictures until Andre and Sarj showed up. I couldn’t believe I was actually going to meet Sarj in person! Especially in
The walk to Apache gave us the opportunity to see a lot of the Kuta nightlife. We walked for about a half hour, hitting and missing other pedestrians on the crowded sidewalk, and finally arrived. The air here was so incredibly humid, and combined with the walk; I felt I was ready for another shower! But at least we had some cold brew waiting for us once we were seated. I ordered a Bintang the first round, but noticed Andre and Sarj were drinking the local stuff….Bali Hai! So I had my first Bali Hai on the next round.
We hung around at the Apache for a few hours, and sometime around 1 in the morning we left in search of a place to eat. Of all places, we found a little warung called Piggy’s! It must have been 2:30 am when we left there. We said good bye, with the hugs and all (thinking this would be the last time we would see each other here) and then Asri and I caught a taxi back to Sanur for our last night at the Mercure.
