Waiting for takeoff a few had coffee, especially the attendant.
Up before sunrise for a nice early flight out of Fairbanks, the first of three flights today for us. We won’t get home until nearly dusk tonight. We had planned ahead for this early morning and had coffee and sweet rolls in the room so that we would have something on our tummys. We showered and dressed and let the front desk know that we were ready to check out and be shuttled to the airport. They sent a young girl up to help with the luggage and she help wheel it down and put it in the shuttle van while we turned in our room keys. That was a very strange feeling. We were the very last tourists of the year and in a big place like this with 325 rooms it was spooky.
That young girl somehow managed to break a wheel off of our luggage because when we got to the airport it was gone. She didn’t say a word and we knew nothing would be done about it, so we just dragged it in with us.
It was quiet and sleepy waiting for the flight but finally we loaded into the biggest of the three planes we’d be on today, a 737. We got as comfortable as possible and soon were taxiing out for our flight to Seattle. This flight was nearly full.
Even though Roger was in the aisle seat he managed to get a couple of pictures on that flight.
