I got up to a late start sunday afternoon.... I have been trying to fix my sleeping schedule to resemble something more normal... and thought i was doing well until my roommate told me that it was 1pm!!! LOL I was up for a long time waiting for my 9:30 AM alarm to go off!!! Oh my goodness I was surprised to hear that it was way past my wake up time! haha
Charity thought the game started at 6:30 pm.. And it did if we were in the Eastern time zone! :P but after driving around forever looking for a parking spot and then walking a long distance to the French Quarter we ended up watching the first quarter at a Japanese sushi place on Decatur St! Then we walked all the way to Boondock Saints on Saint Peter St.
Finally it was half time! we had 30 minutes to run again and find another bar! we tried to find a place called Club Envy where a friend of charity's was watching the game, but no know in the area heard about it.Baton Rouge for the game... I felt really bad... It was my idea to drive to new Orleans for the game and here we are running around the streets instead of watching the game! out of pure desperation we ducked into a brightly lit daiquiri bar on Decatur st.. at this point the Saints were behind in points. but we watched them score huge in the third quarter!! YAY!!!! charity was happy! which made me happy! and people around us were happy! which made charity even more happy and That made me even happier!!!
LOL in case you haven't noticed Happiness is contagious! ;P
For the fourth quarter we ran down the street and went into the House of Blues! Finally a cool place with many huge TVs and loads of people, but not overcrowded place to watch the game!!! And YAY the Saints won!!! Who dat?? We Dat!! :P:P
This was why i wanted to come to New Orleans!!! I knew that the streets of New Orleans were going to be a HUGE party!! New Orleans did not disappoint!!! :P:P
Bourbon St was basically a wall of drunken human flesh! People were screaming, crying and dancing with joy; beads were being tossed from all different directions, mostly from above; and I must have lost my roommate at least 5 times during the chaos!! I was kissed, hugged, high fived, picked up, and danced with within half a block! It was fantastic!!!! For hours we walked the streets cheering with everyone! sharing a once in a lifetime moment with thousands of new friends!!!
It was intoxicating! it was thrilling!! It was absolutely unreal!!!!! I am soooo happy I was there to enjoy it!
