First bit of business is celebrating the New Year!
okay so I realize that am a bit late in this celebration, but originally I was suppose to be here in Baton Rouge partying it up with my awesome roommate. Instead, thanks to an expensive car repair, I spent the greatest night of the year in chilly New Jersey with a few close friends.. While I still had a great time celebrating with my Jersey friends, I also really wanted to be home in Baton Rouge.
Of course the night my roommate and I decide to celebrate 2010 was the COLDEST night in Baton rouge in like decades!!! I was freezing my tale off in my brand new awesome red dress!! :P but at least we looked good!
We hit up a few places in the down town area. Started with 'Happys' which was a cool place, except it was packed! To the point that we couldn't really move about the place or able to order drinks. There were mostly men there and when I saw the little outfits the bar maids wore I understood why! still it had a cool atmosphere.
Next we went to Boudreaux. I have been here before and liked it then.. There was a cover charge downstairs for the band so we decided to venture upstairs.
afterwards we went to Red Star! Red Star is my roommate's favorite place and I have to agree it had an awesome atmosphere. I have been there when it was packed tightly and when it was almost empty and still it is a cool place to chill. They throw music shows and have interesting artwork decorating the red walls. I ended up dancing with several people in the back and then danced in the front to a metal band of some sort... at least I remember them being metal... By that point my perception was a little inebriated, so who knows what was playing. I do clearly remember being the ONLY person in front dancing.. which isn't too unusual for me :P:P
It was a good night with LOTS of dancing, new friends, and awesome roommate and a fantastic red dress!!! What more could I have asked for???
