Trying out the local cuisine... well mini hot dogs. but with salsa and green sauce
We arrived in Mexico City
after dark on Saturday night after leaving Aus around 10am. Pretty good timing really.. could do it in a weekend! but anyway we are here for a month or so. The hostel was good the highlight of our room was a TV bigger than ours at home! but we didn´t turn it on. The most exciting thing that evening was a street parade at 3am.. we are still not sure what it was exactly but a group was singing on a float and hundreds of people were walking behing singing along. They were all wearing red scarves! Considering we were in a fairly small street (but near to the centre) it was surprising to get so much action out of our window and in the middle of the night. We spent the next morning walking around the city and along the roads which were closed onsundays for the people to cycle walk and rollerblade. Wow so many mexicans of all shaps and sizes enjoying the sunday.. and there was free aerobics and other activities all around the city. Certainly not the hustle and bustle we were expectingof such a big city. We´ll be back before Cara and Manuels wedding soplanning to see the tourist sites then.
