On our way to Cusco
We left Puno early in the morning. Passing Juliaca (we were told that this town has the highest airport in the world with one exception:
We made a stop in Pucara. Here they produce the statues of the steers which you see above the entrance of farmhouses, or on roofs.
Had an early lunch in a touristic but very nice restaurant.
We reached
We were strolling the city centre, the Plaza de Armas was crowded because of a rally. Visited ‘La Catedral’ (the cathedral) and ‘Iglesia de la Compania’ (a Jesuit church). For both you have to pay an admission fee. Unfortunately it is not allowed to take pictures inside.
In my opinion both are worth visiting. Whether you like the style or not.

I was staying in room 101, a very large room with television and refrigerator. Large bathroom too. Room and bathroom a little old fashioned decorated. My room (an indoor room) was overlooking the reception…….. felt like the manager :-))
Breakfast (buffet style) is good. In the restaurant I only had a soup (which was very good).
As we left for the Sacred Valley and Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) we left our suitcases in the hotel (took only a backpack). After two nights we came back and I found my suitcase in the same (spacious) room!
