Wilmington, NC is a very cool place.Featuring a splendid location stretching from the Cape Fear River to the Atlantic Ocean, the town was a vital center long ago and has recently re-emerged.Michael Jordan is likely the most well known original inhabitant, but David Brinkley, Charles Kuralt, Charlie Daniels, Sonny Jurgensen and Meadowlark Lemon all hail from here.
Downtown stretches along the Cape Fear River (originally disconcerting to me because it feels like you are on the ocean) and is marvelous.Brisk tourist trade ensures plenty of top notch restaurants and shopping opportunities, and the colonial atmosphere is really vibrant. But ranging out affords many more splendid locations --- be they eating, shopping, artistic, amusement or historic.
I won’t ramble on in this passage because it is only a landing spot for reviews around Wilmington.Hope you find something that catches your eye and compels you to visit a fascinating destination!
Yes, Charleston is a quality destination...and I've written a couple reviews, not that they do the place justice: the Farmer's Market (http://www.travbuddy.com/Charleston-Farmers-Market-v293467), and; the Ravenal Bridge (http://www.travbuddy.com/Arthur-Ravenel-Jr-Bridge-v293454). But you've inspired me to return and provide some better feedback!
