Sunny Side Up

We identified a strong candidate for breakfast and kicked off the next day in Asheville by making for Sunny Point Café before their 8AM opening time. Our early arrival was driven by their impeccable reputation - which results in the joint getting wicked crowded. The advice was good (we were fourth in line and the place became a mob scene shortly after we arrived). An amazing opening feast, reviewed below.
After the sumptuous breakfast we dropped Sandy off in downtown Asheville, where she was going to enjoy a day of intense shopping. Laura and I hit the highways toward Highlands. I had really enjoyed my visit there last Thanksgiving and enthused to share a cool destination with Laura. It is roughly a two hour drive from Asheville to Highlands, but quite beautiful with the route framed by Appalachian mountains. Continuing lovely weather did not hurt any, either.
Eventually we returned to Asheville, picked up a happy Sandy and repaired back to the pad for a fabulous seafood feast featuring the rest of the bounty I had carted across the state. We hit the Asheville Pinball Museum after our meal, and what fun. As much as I enjoyed my initial visit, it was delightfully enhanced by being able to drink a couple beers while flipping out (Laura drove). What I found truly remarkable was an excellent (if limited) selection of brews at ridiculously cheap prices. Cheers!
