A thank you to the members of this site. Thank you for the serious reassurance.

Sparked.

Everyone has their fears about traveling alone. I am no exception.  I was supposed to go with my girlfriend, and that was comforting.  However, a few months ago she backed out, stating later of course, that she had no intention of going in the first place.  This lead to the eventual failing of the relationship, because no one is a fan of people that don't keep commitments.

However, my resolve to go is still strong.  Seeing the mass amounts of people that travel on their own, and are extremely friendly and willing to share company, experiences, and ideas is just the reassurance a traveler needs.  It's uplifting.  So much so, I chose the user name "sparked" because I was motivated by this site to keep my promises to myself.

So, thank you to EVERY member of travbuddy.com ... it's good to have you on my side!

Hi Nathan, sorry for taking so long to respond to this post, actually have been thinking about it a lot. I refused to travel for a long time because I never seemed to have anyone to go with me. Actually nearly cancelled my first trip to New York City because the friend I was going to go with had to cancel, but a family member suggested that I just go alone and have fun. So I did. I had a blast. Actually my last three trips I've taken solo, and never regretted any of them. Why wait around for someone else to go see the world? Go, have fun, and enjoy the experiences. I look forward to hearing about them! :)
