Oplenac Royal Mausoleum is the historic place of the mausoleum of the Serbian Karadjordjevic Royal Family located in central Serbia near the town of Topola. It is known for the St.GeorgeChurch with beautiful mosaics . The Foundation in Oplenac is named after King Petar I of Yugoslavia.
Besides the Mausoleum ,St. George church, there are other objects that encompass the Foundation of King Petar I " King Petar's House, King’s villa, Queen’s villa, Vineyards, Vineyard Keeper’s House, etc. Visitors can also visit the historic town of Topola located nearby, a traditional stronghold of the Karadjordjevic family, ever since the time of Karadjordje, Leader of the First Serbian Uprising of 1804. There they can see what remains of the old Topola town, Karadjordje’s church and his monument.
If you ever come to Serbia , specially during the September or October I would recommend to you to visit this part of country because you’ll enjoy to see this beautiful Mausoleum-St.George's church with such beautiful mosaics and enjoy walking around through the colourful nature and taste some good vine from this area, specially in September when many of vine festivals are here.
